About Me

I’m a full-time freelance copywriter. and blogger. and community facilitator (kind of). and brand consultant (sort of). I guess this is the best way to say it - I have a passion for the written word, and for organizing concise thoughts correctly within the medium. I also have a passion for helping companies realize that their culture, their community, and their brand is formed (mostly) through the written word. and of course, I have a passion for helping them do it well.

I work mostly with startups, especially in new-tech (think computers). those are my clients, first, because I love startup culture, and I love being in it. they’re my clients, second, because they’re young, new, and open to new things (like someone who writes their blog ‘about me’ section in all lowercase letters). and they’re my clients, third, because while they’re young, all other copywriters are old. not really old. but, like, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s old. old enough to cater to middle-managers in old-school business, not new-tech entrepreneurs on twitter. I get startup culture, I’m a part of it, and because I’m one of the few doing both, I’m in a unique position.

and really, I think that’s a good place to be. It puts me in a spot to do good work for a certain population  that’s being misserved by other writers, and it puts me in a good spot to have fun doing it. it’s a somewhat new idea (or at least a new twist on the old concepts of copywriting), but that’s what I’m working on, and that’s where I’m going – down the path to becoming THE startup writer. this site then, more than just a resource for helping startups write better stuff, is about exploring that vision, and seeing if it works (because I don’t really even know yet). thanks for coming along, and thanks for the support along the way.
